Understanding "dental insurance"

"Dental insurance" is a misnomer, as it does guarantee compensation for loss or damage as a traditional "insurance" plan would. If you have dental needs beyond hygiene therapy, your care will require an investment beyond what your dental benefits plan covers. Your dental benefits plan will assist you very well in the maintenance of your dental health, but it was never designed to restore health when significant disease or breakdown is present in your mouth. It is up to the individual to make the most of their dental benefits plan and keep oneself healthy.

Our practice accepts all PPO dental benefit plans. We do everything possible to see that our patients receive the full benefits of their policies. Dental benefit plans are an agreement between the patient, the patient's employer, and the dental benefit plan. Patients are thus responsible for any amount not covered by their dental benefit plan.
